Healthy Oatmeal Cookies

Snacks are one important part of our eating habits and it has been proven that our majority intake of calories comes from the snacks that we have between the meals or when we do not find time to eat and we grab something to crunch . For instance , when you want something sweet it is better to try to make home made ice creams out of fruits and yogurt ; it will be a sweet and healthy snack but also they will eat ice cream , which we all love . When we want something sweet to eat , a good healthy solution represents the healthy oatmeal cookies .

It is extremely healthy because it contains a great amount of whole grains and fiber . There are different types of oatmeal cookies but one of the most beloved recipe by all the family and especially by kids is oatmeal chocolate chips cookies but not only this one ; there is also a really healthy recipe : apple – oatmeal cookies . For this you need the following ingredients : 1 cup old – fashioned oats , ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts , 1 cup whole – wheat pastry flour , ½ teaspoon baking soda , ½ teaspoon baking powder , ¼ teaspoon salt , ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon , 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg , 2 eggs or 4 teaspoons dried egg whites , ½ cup coarsely shredded peeled apple , ½ cup packed light brown sugar , ¼ cup apple butter , 4 spoons granulated sugar , 2 spoons canola oil , ½ teaspoon vanilla extract , ½ cup diced dried apples . The first step is to spread oats and nuts on a baking sheet . Bake this until it is golden for 5 to 8 minutes .

Then coat 2 baking sheets with cooking spray . In a bowl , mix the flour , baking soda , baking powder , salt , cinnamon and nutmeg . Then combine the egg whites , apple , brown sugar apple butter , 3 spoons granulated sugar , oil and vanilla in another bowl . After you add the dry ingredients and mix it until it is just moistened . Add in dried apples and reserved oats and nuts . Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls on the baking sheets . Then mix the remaining spoon of sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and coat the bottom of a glass with cooking spray . Afted dip the glass in the mixture and flatten cookies with it . The cookies will be baked one sheet at a time until they are lightly brown for 10 to 12 minutes . Per cookie , the number of calories is about 70 calories and only 2 grams fat .

Healthy oatmeal cookies represent a healthy snack for the kids and also for the entire family because they contain little fat and the amount of calories is not so large so it is perfect for a quick snack between the meals .
