Heart Healthy Recipes That Taste Good

Nowadays , more and more people have health problem but there are so many cases of heart affections . Some of the health affections are not so complicated but in all cases it is important to maintain a healthy life style and especially a balanced diet that will help your heart . The main purposes of this diet is to keep your blood cholesterol low and to decrease the risk of developing heart diseases .



The main principles are : 8% or even 10% of the total calories a person eats per day must be from saturated fats , less than 30% must come from the fat you eat each day ,  you must not eat more than 300 milligrams of dietary cholesterol  , you have to limit your sodium intake at 2400 milligrams per day and  you have to be extremely careful at the number of total calories that you each day .


Although all these principles do not sound so good , there are a lot of heart healthy recipes that taste good . One of them is Honey – Soy Broiled Salmon . For this you need the following ingredients : 1 minced scallion , 2 spoons reduced-sodium soy sauce , 1 spoon rice vinegar , 1 spoon honey , 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger , 1 center-cut salmon fillet , skinned , 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds .

The first step is to mix in a bowl the scallion , soy sauce , vinegar , honey and ginger . You have to mix them well until the honey is dissolved . Then place the salmon in a sealable plastic bag ; there you add 3 spoons of the sauce and put in the fridge to marinate for some 15 minutes and reserve the remaining sauce . Meanwhile , preheat the broiler .

Put a small baking pan with foil and coat with cooking spray . Next , transfer the salmon to the pan with the skinned side down . You have to broil the salmon 10 cm from the heat source until it is cooked through ; it is ready in 6 to 10 minutes . You can serve it with the reserved sauce and garnish it with sesame seeds . The recipe tastes extremely good and also it respects the principle of the heart diet : it has 234 calories , 13 grams fat , 67 milligrams cholesterol , 335 milligrams sodium and also selenium , almost 60% of the daily value which is an excellent source omega -3s .


To keep the heart diet is not such a difficult thing to do ; you can find so many heart healthy recipes that taste good or you can even create your own tasty recipes . You do not have to quit all the aliments you like to eat , you just have to adjust the recipes to the main principles exposed above . Maybe it is a little hard at the beginning but it is a necessary measure in order to have a good quality life or even not to develop other complications
